Dear Visitor,
Welcome! The idea for this web site stems from my own experience of writing letters after the loss of Pushkin, our beloved beagle. Whether it’s the loss of an animal or human loved one, coping with loss is a singular and complex process. I found letter writing very helpful as part of my own healing and wanted to provide others with the opportunity.
Why write a letter of your own? Think of it as:
- A way to cope with the loss of a loved one
- A testament to the life of a loved one
- A re-affirmation of life
This site gives you an opportunity to write a letter to a loved one you're missing. You may write the letter to keep to yourself, but you also will be given the options of sharing your letter only with family and friends or posting your letter online here, as part of a growing collective experience.
Coping with loss and grief is a universal experience. I hope that you find writing a letter as helpful as I have. And I hope, by sharing our stories, all of us still here are able to help each other.
Yes, the letters are about loss. But more importantly, they are about hope.
Peace,
Sharon
